bridges have burned and roads have run out,
ties have been cut and scattered about,
things have been taken, stolen and smashed,
hearts have been broken and hopes have been dashed,
but always tonight will bring on tomorrow,
contentment will rise from sadness and sorrow,
from darkness is born the thrill of the sun,
and nothing will start until its begun,

and a race will not end until it is run.
