Haunting blues

that woman haunts me,
she haunts me 'til i'm blue,
she was mean but lovely
and the best i ever knew,
someday i might forget her
then i'll be on my way,
oh, lord, she haunts me,
ever night and day.
someday i might forget her
right now just let me play,
play these awful hauntin' blues
then i'll be on my way.

that woman haunts me,
shes cold and such bad news,
her vision always chills me
clear down to my shoes,
i see her ever mornin'
ever evenin' too,
but when i hate to see her
is when i'm down and blue,
just let me play these blues
'til this guitar must cry,
cain't stop those blues that got me
no matter how i try.

i know i must forget her
and all those sad adieus,
but right now just let me sit here
and play these hauntin' blues.
