Le Fete de e'crevisse
Friday's hours were a blur,
we moved but felt asleep,
and then we drove to louisin'e
life was simple, time was cheap,
we ate a bite and hit the hay,
never knowing what might be,
ran a level five mile race
you won a trophy, ma cheri'e,
after that we sipped some beer
then cool showers and boudin,
Tequila shots and Schaeffer beer
and then we danced, Ma'dame
the Cajun bands were loud and wild
we were too high to come back down
laughing, dancing fools in love,
we danced all over town,
we didn't care what might come next,
we cared not come what way,
you were a graceful slender cloud,
and we would swing and we would sway,
we turned, we spun, we tossed,
we were us, the rest were lost.
