Nervequake

Mount Everest at its highest peak
nor its coldest windy breath
can touch the chill i've lately felt
and wanted so to lose
but never seems to change
except for those warm times
inside the ston'ed walls
of my own private castle
where the floors are not a tremor
and the walls are not
a ringing pain of force
and the animals
only show their teeth
in happy smiles . . .
