waded a river,waded a creek,
took me four months and a week,
crawled a mountain, crawled a flat
found the worth of this and that,
swam in an ocean, swam in a sea,
with a blanket of loneliness covering me,
gone in a moment, gone in a nod,
lost in a winter promenade,
gave me a heartache, gave me a sting,
showed me exactly what time can bring
hurt for days, hurt for weeks,
center stage for "les pathe'tiques"
