POWERFUL PEOPLE
ARE ABLE TO CONTROL OTHERS
BUT OFTEN
CAN NOT CONTROL THEMSELVES

THERE ARE PEOPLE WHO OWN MUCH
YET ACTUALLY HAVE LITTLE

trance
going under is a phrase
to to step outside the human maze
just below the raucous tide
lies a current far and wide
it moves to left and moves to right
it moves by day and moves by night
you take yourself away by choice
your open mind is your Rolls-Royce
going under says it all
you slowly slide 'till you are small
a shining trip to wonderland
where you can hear a magic band

et finis
i've had my share of thrills
and climbed some lofty hills
but all it takes to turn me on
is just one sight of you. . .
i've had some tripping loves
and had some ugly shoves
but all it takes
to get me off
is just one sight of you. . .
i've had a lot of things
and flew with broken wings
but all it takes
to blow my mind
is just one sight of you. . .
i've done so many acts
and lived with cold hard facts
but all it takes
to break my heart
is just one sight of you. . .

Living
Some think of living
as a fortress
that neither gale nor lightning can shake,
others think of a leaf
that sways in every direction
and finds pleasure in the swaying

M-J (Mood Jump)
out of one
and into the next
like a muscle
thats just been flexed
ding dong
i'm right here
bing bong
i've got no fear
like a dog with
his best bone
will stay at home
until he's grown

pas de deux
broken hearts and wounded pride
a strangely moving midnight ride
black of night they darkly move
an unknown thing was finally proved
passing words in form of trance
a heavy thought in just a glance
speeding on they run the edge
upon their private mental ledge
magic mirrors told the scene
knifing thoughts are sharp and keen
hand in hand exploring youth
sharing love and sharing truth
lovely lovers they once had been
as if they had a common skin
now chemistry's no longer real
their hearts too torn to ever heal

See-through
the windowman has come on board
with all his well known rats
someone left the door unlocked
so we all must change our hats
no one would have ever guessed
the way the chips came down
everything is compromised
its another kind of town

sense past tense
touch me up aside my ear
or sugar up my tongue
let me gaze upon you dear
i still feel kinda young
let me hear you say my name
and smell your female scent
let me take you to my game
and not say how we went
give me what you feel is right
or what you think is fair
hand me down that moon so bright
its tangled in your hair
take from me the things i give
since time is like a sieve
chances are the morning sun
will see you on the run

Promised chance
under the cover
of morning in glory,
riding the wind
like a bird. . .
just past the shadow
of dusk ever after,
nothing is spoken
nothing is heard. . .
under the blanket
of midnight seclusion,
taking a chance
on a word. . .
just past the glimmer
of moonlight tomorrow,
promises broken
for reasons absurd. . .

The end of the day
the sun
is a round red ball
it lays at the bottom
of the hillside
where it has rolled
after a hard days climb
across the sky
it lays and tiredly throbs
until the sky turns purple
then it rolls away
into the night

Spirit
beyond a point in time
where no one else
has ever been
thats where i'll be waiting
just for you
don't look for me tomorrow
or next year but
when the diamonds in the heavens
have fallen to your feet
and when the silver
in the moon has turned to snow
and when the sun has melted
into a sea of golden wine
and when the blue sky
has turned into lapis lazuli
and when the howling wind
becomes a symphony
then i'll be there . . . .

early morning flight
early morning is the time
for letting out
your eager mind
while the morning sun is red
its oppertune
to clear your head
early morning is the best
for startinmg on
a mental quest
while the morning sun is soft
its wise to get
your thoughts aloft

Shadowman
the shadowman is hiding
from dark to dark he moves
talking to his conscience
to see if it approves
he silvers every outthrust palm
he soothes each ragged ache
his problems all are obsolete
his visions all opaque
the shadowman is hiding
between me and the sun
when things get rough and ugly
he lets his idylls run
he dreams of panorama
and the dark side of the moon
his fantasies are intricate
and always end too soon
