Pairvoyents
Like laughing
endless children
wornout and winded
bathed in our comingled sweat
we stopped and stared. . .
then read each other's minds

The Dilbert Snively Canineophone
Downstreet
peace and tranquility
are shattered
by the maul of reality
and the heavy hand of fate
is wrapped in the dark glove of the future
but the taste of defeat is raw and real
iron slick and bitter
worn smooth by abuse
and Karma is marching
down on me with roughshod feet
but the foot that sinks so deep
will also pull itself free
since what goes down
must also come up
what goes out must come back
after all my tomorrows
are heaped before me in a pile
i'll look back on this day
with an ironic smile

Blue Cat with bubbles
The Catworld is not of this one 2010
Stainless steel jungle re-visited
jungle rhythms
roar across the room
where pipes of stainless steel
will have to pass for vines
where dripping seep
will mock the humid ooze
of hot Equator stench
steel pipes stand tall
like green bamboo and . . .
and. . .the animals are here
vicious snarling hot and mad
in nameless ignorance they creep
with sharp teeth that bite
(you often in the back)
and spread poison with their words
pools of gray water
tepid foamy rock lined slime
and snug inside his tribal hut
is RONARONA the master of lost time
King of the redneck horde
steel mountains beckon
painted jade green
except for rust and white iron lube
below the screeching cry of whistles
horns and rasping buzzers.

Time flies, in fact, it still flies . . .
Anchors aweigh! 1979
Untitled
the streets of time
are fast and crooked
narrow paths
with mirrored signs
to point the way
and anywhere
you might linger
looms a thing
you might ne'er forget
just when you come to like it
and maybe hold it in your heart
it seems to change then slip away
beyond your grasp
falling slowly with a slippery grace
like misting rain
