beggars standing on the street
they stare into your eyes
but who among us has the skill
to know the ones who lie?
should we ignore a fervent plea
just turn and look away
or give a little of our change
and brighten someones day?
i'd rather give a dollar
to a bum to spend on dope
than not help out an honest man
with nothing left but hope
